You would be totally out of the loop of popular music if you didn’t know that Jack Johnson (who is one of the coolest musicians on the planet) released the Curious George Soundtrack. But did you know that title says it was by Jack Johnson and friends? One of those friends on that album is Matt Costa.
As a young teenager from Huntington Beach, Calif., Matt was more interested in skate boarding than music or high school. He almost became a professional skater until he shattered his leg in a skate boarding accident. At that point he turned his full attention to guitar and writing/recording music. It wasn’t long before had the attention of people in the music industry, and soon after was touring as a supporting act with Jack Johnson.
Matt’s first CD was released independently in 2005, and it was re-released in 2006 by Brushfire records which is an Indie label that was created by Jack Johnson to release music for surf films. Brushfire put out the Curious George Soundtrack in 2006, and Matt’s most recent CD, released in January 2008.
If you are interested in the coolness of Jack Johnson, and are interested in really good music at the same time, you’ll love Matt Costa.
