Snoop Dog declares to MTV that he's bored with Hip-Hop, and is considering rock music in 2008.  He told MTV personnel he wants to rock with "Madonna, Bono, or Mick Jagger."

Sony announces a deal to sell it's catalog of music through Amazon.com by the end of January.  The music will be free of Digital Rights Management (DRM), and because of it Sony will become the biggest rival to iTunes.

Panic! At The Disco has decided to drop the exclamation mark in their name.  From now on they will go by the name Panic At The Disco.

Avaril Lavigne has settled out of court a lawsuit claiming her song "Girlfriend," was plagiarized. The lawsuit centered on a song written in 1979 called "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend."

The presidential candidate given the name "B-Rock" by Vibe Magazine has embraced the music of Jay-Z in his campaign.  Barack Obama has reportedly also talked to other Hip-Hop artists such as Kanye West.

It is currently illegal in England to make copies of purchased music for personal use, but the British Government is planning on changing the current copyright laws.  It still will be illegal to give away or sell copies of purchased music.

New music to check out this week


Robbie Seay Band has hit the big time in a deal with American Idol that should give them much more exposure as a band.  Idol will be using "Rise" by Robbie Seay Band as the theme song for it's upcoming season that will start on Tuesday, January 15th.  "Rise" was released by the band on their second album, Give Yourself Away, which was released on August 28th, 2007.
