On Wednesday, Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Member Ike Turner died at his home in San Diego on Wednesday. Ike has been given credit for recording the first Rock ‘N Roll recording with “Rocket 88” in 1951.

This week the 2008 Inductees for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame were announced. Among them in the performer list are Madonna, John Mellencamp, Leonard Cohen, The Dave Clark 5, and The Ventures. In the Sideman category is Little Walter, and in the non-performer category is Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Influential bands & musicians are qualified for induction into the Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their first album. Nirvana will not be able to join the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame until 2014 since they released Bleach in 1989.
