On Tuesday, UGK Rapper Pimp C found dead in his hotel room in Los Angeles. The cause of his death is still unknown. The rapper had spent 3 years in prison on an assault charge, but was released in December 2005. His 2006 album reached #3 on the Billboard Charts. Pimp C was from Port Arthur Texas, which was also the home of Janis Joplin.

Grammy Award Nominations were released this week. Christian band, Pillar, received their very first Grammy Nomination for Best Album in Gospel Music. The Grammy Awards will be in Los Angeles on February 26, 2008.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers were chosen to play the Halftime Show for Super Bowl XLII in Arizona. Other bands that have played the Super Bowl Halftime Show have included The Rolling Stones, Prince, U2, and no one can forget Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake. The very first musical performance was at Super Bowl I in 1967 with the marching bands from The University of Michigan and the University of Arizona.
