Porter Wagoner dies from lung cancer at age 80.  Porter Wagoner was a superstar in country music in the 1960s, a Country Music Hall of Fame member, a 50 year member of the Grand Ole Opry, and, through the Porter Wagoner Show, launched the career of Dolly Parton. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gDcxdlyTIrcEMuaFgDlsC05ikVSgD8SILBKG0

 

1730 guitarist came together in India this week to break the world record by playing “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” all at once.  A video recording of their performance was sent to the Guinness World Record Headquarters.  They broke the previous world record set in Kansas by 1721 guitarist who had gathered together to play “Smoke On The Water” by Deep Purple.  http://www.nme.com/news/bob-dylan/32107

 

Notorious B.I.G. got a wax statue at Madame Tussauds in New York City.  Notorious B.I.G. was murdered in Los Angeles in 1997.  The unveiling was attended by the late rapper’s Mother.  She commented on how much the wax figure looked like her son, and how she wished it was breathing. http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20154342,00.html
