In a recent interview with Virgin Radio, Foo Fighters lead singer and guitarist, Dave Grohl, said he never imagined he would still be in music after the tragedies that occurred over a decade ago.

Prior to forming the Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl was the drummer and backing vocalist for Nirvana.  In 1994, after Kurt Cobain's death and subsequent break-up of Nirvana, Grohl went into the studio to record some demos that became the debut album for the Foo Fighters.

Grohl told Virgin Radio that his world was turned upside down after the death of Cobain, and  he couldn't imagine playing music again.  He said he spent a lot of time just traveling around and thinking before he decided to book six days in the studio to record a dozen of his favorite songs.

On Tuesday, September 25th, the Foo Fighters will release their sixth studio album, Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace, their first album since 1997.

More information can be found about the band can be found on the Foo Fighters website.

I'm glad Grohl stuck with music. It's great to see multi-talented musicians move from instrument to instrument. It's not always to see hard rockers do it. I'm looking forward to hearing the new Foo Fighters album.

I am glad he continued, and didn't give up. He's great, I like him.
