The First Tour:

Katie
Katie:
Being on the road together for so long, we’ve figured out how each of us works on a day-to-day basis.

Jessica:
God had to have His hand over all of us. People are always wondering about us being five girls together, and how there must be fights all the time, especially over the bathroom. We have our times when we fight, but we’ve seen guy bands that fight more than we did. We all have this love about each other, and we really respect each other’s space. We really don’t fight over the bathroom or much of anything else.

It was a really cool experience because I was actually praying before we left that we wouldn’t have those troubles being five girls on the road and a lot of cat fights. It turned out to not be like that at all. It turned out to be so much fun, and now we are out until May. So this is a five month run with very few breaks. If we get tired of each other, we are able to find some time away from each other to kind of breathe a little bit so we can come back together and be friends. I guess it kind of helps that must of us have sisters. I had a really close relationship with my sister, so that kind of brings us into this.

Melissa:
It was crazy! It was a lot of fun, but it was really hard. I think we’ve definitely agreed that more than three months on the road without being at home was too much. We got to go from New Hampshire to California, and we saw a lot of things. It was really cool, but at the same time really hard. There are days when you really don’t want to travel or play a show. It wasn’t bad though. We had a lot of fun.

Alyssa

Alyssa:
Sometimes it seems like because there are five of us there is always one odd. I have to fight myself to believe…or not believe that they’re closer than they could ever be. It’s like a personal battle really because it’s not really like them against me or anything. It’s not really a problem

Keeping Grounded in Faith

Jessica
Jessica:
It is definitely important for you spend time with God on a daily basis. I’m not always perfect like that. There are days that I miss that, and I know when I miss it. The day just seems so drabby and horrible. I feel down and depressed. You can’t have a relationship without getting into the word. I’ve been reading through Jeremiah recently and how he called Jeremiah at such a young age to do amazing powerful things.

When I’m with the band and not driving or something, I’ll be in the back seat not focusing on what everyone else is doing, and I’ll really just pray and look on the word. A girl once told me that we can’t fight the battle and then prepare for it. You have to prepare for the battle, and the only way is by getting into the word before the battle comes.

Melissa:
It’s especially hard when you’re on tour. It’s hard to make time to really get the word. We have a road pastor, and he sends us things on MySpace a lot like devotionals or calls us. Of course our families are really close to us when we’re on tour. When I go home I go to church, and if there is something going on with the youth group, I’ll go with them. I’ve been trying to spend time with the word, and it’s been going pretty well. I’ve been able to keep up with that.
