Katie:
Lindsey and I were at a retreat with our youth group when we were about 15 or 16, and she was like, ‘Hey, let’s start a band just for the fun of it!’ So Lindsey and Melissa and I started a band.
We started out as a praise and worship band for our church, and we did that for about a year. The year after that we started writing our own music. And then the following year we all started college.

The last day we were at the retreat, Lindsey walked up to me and said, “Hey, I hear you just got a drum set. You wanna play?” I had gotten my drum set for my birthday. I really had no clue how to play then. So I told Lindsey, “Let me pray about it, and I’ll get back to you.” So I prayed about it, and about five minutes later I walked up to them and was like, “Hey, yeah, I want to do it.” It was a perfect click right from there. It was like I had known them for years. We were best friends from then on.
Alyssa:
I wasn’t actually planning on being in the band at all. I was going to go to art school. So

three months before the end of school I heard about auditions. It sounded really cool, and I knew the girls. So I was like, “Ok, I guess that’s what God wants me to do instead of going to school.”
I actually just thought it would be a summer thing because I didn’t know anything about it. Every other band that I had been in I was the bass player. It was like high school band, so we would break up for retarded reasons, and I just thought it would be a summer thing. It’s more than the summer, way past actually, and on to the next summer.
